Kids & Youth
We’re a church for all ages, from the youngest to the oldest!
We want to partner with parents to grow young disciples who go the distance with Jesus. That’s why we want to run safe and exciting groups for kids and teens where they can learn about Jesus, as we open up the Bible, make friends, and have fun along the way!
What to expect?
Every Sunday, we welcome newcomers through our doors: people who trust Jesus already and those who don’t. To get a feel about what it’s like on Sunday, click a photo below to read what people have found when they’ve joined us.
We’ve driven down the Windsor Road and the A40 so many times! For me, Usha, and the rest of the family, we never thought Saint James would be like this?! We thought it would be a collection of sombre, serious, older people with a few hymns, and that’s it! But we thought we’d give it a go. I think what surprised us was not just the content, but the warmth, the welcome… the multiple opportunities to serve, and the preaching of a gospel that is not only authentic, but also relevant. Nine months later, we’re delighted and thankful to God for Saint James.
I returned to the area following university and life afterwards and was exploring different churches. I was surprised by the joy I experienced. It felt warm, welcoming, full of life. Coming to The 5:30, I felt instantly welcomed. I was able to get involved with an ever-growing group of people my age. The warmth of the people and the rich teaching from God’s word, made it clear that this was where I wanted to belong.
I came to my cousin’s baptism many, many years ago and I really liked the atmosphere. So I decided to continue coming! It was a bit nerve-wracking at first…a group of people I didn’t know, but coming into a new environment with such welcoming people was amazing, both for me and my children. They get to spend time with their friends, and I get to listen to good teaching and enjoy church family — I really look forward to it!
I was a little bit nervous the first time walking in because it was somewhere new, but what stood out to me most was how welcoming everyone was. They identified I was new, but didn’t make me feel new… They were really welcoming! There was a selection of everyone from every sort of background here, and the church atmosphere was really nice, it was up upbeat, there was a buzz about it, which was really good.
FAQs
Where can I park?
At Saint James in Gerrards Cross, there is a large car park down the drive, behind the Saint James Centre.
What should I wear?
There is no dress code for our services. Please wear what you are comfortable with.
Will I be asked to say anything?
During the service, we sing together, led by our Music Team. Our time of prayer is led by a member of the congregation and anything that’s said all together will appear on the screen (or be found in service sheets in bold). You are free to participate as much or as little as you like – and you are welcome just to sit and listen in!
How long does the service last?
Our services usually last between 70-80 minutes. Afterwards, we make time for tea and coffee, to share life together and welcome those who are new. If you’d like to know more about Saint James, head for the Welcome Stand, where someone will be able to say hello and answer your questions.
Where do I sit?
As you arrive, our friendly Hosting Team will give you a warm welcome and help show you where to go.
How do you make your service accessible?
- All of our buildings are accessible for wheelchair users.
- Large print service sheets are available – just ask someone on the Hosting Team when you arrive.
- A hearing loop is active at all our congregations.
