Planting a church and sharing the gospel to make disciples in East Glasgow.

Jesus loves Glasgow even more than Glaswegians do, but in the East of the city, less than 1% of people know that. We are Tim & Lauren Scoular and we moved from Sydney, Australia to Glasgow with our two daughters Zoe & Olivia in February 2025.

The East End of Glasgow has a population of approximately 270,000 people, and the few Bible-believing churches in the East see less than a thousand people through their doors on a Sunday. Glasgow needs more churches and it needs healthier churches if it is to reach the lost with the hope that is only found in Christ.

This was the catalyst for us to lead a team from St Silas Church and plant East Glasgow Church in 2026. We are blessed to have partners around the world who have been bathing this in prayer and we have a deep sense that God’s hand is with us as we are working here.

Our heart as a church, and our prayer, is to see all of the east fully mature in Christ. We would love for you to join us in praying this big prayer and the points below.

Prayer Points

Thank God for the partnership of St Silas and partners around the UK and the world.
Pray that we would be laying the foundation to reach all of the east with the gospel – those who have lived here long term and those who have just moved in.
Pray that we would have a sense of gospel urgency and that many in our community would come to know Jesus.
Pray for the marriages and children within our church, as well as singles and couples, that we would all live faithfully for Jesus.
