The opening pages of the Bible show us how God entrusted the care and tending of this creation to human beings, made in his image. Creation care, as a fruit of the gospel, is important for demonstrating how Christians can steward all of God’s resources well.
A Rocha was founded in Portugal in 1983 to give a “practical expression to the conviction that it is a completely normal part of the Christian life to care for God’s creation.”
A Rocha is part a global family of conservation organisations working together to help churches and Christians care for creation and equip others to do likewise. Dave Bookless is a CMS Mission Partner working as Head of Theology for A Rocha International. Dave’s role involves advising A Rocha’s global and national leaders on theological issues and articulating and communicating A Rocha’s biblical vision through research, writing, teaching, training and speaking.
Dave has spoken in over forty countries across six continents (and many more online), and contributed to over 30 books, including writing ‘Planetwise’ and, most recently, ‘Making a World of Difference’ (both translated into multiple languages). He has a PhD on the Bible and wildlife conservation from Cambridge University and is an ordained Anglican minister
