Lamenting with Hope

We have all experienced loss during the last year

Loss of opportunities, be they holidays or school or even exams. Loss of relational joy; zoom is not substitute for a hug from Granny! And some of us have experienced the deep sadness of loss of loved ones. We need to lament.

Lament in the Bible is acknowledging our loss and grief in the context of God’s promises and certain hope in Christ. It’s something God’s people do together. It’s something we find hard to set aside time for.

On June 27th we are having a service of Lament with hope. We know it’s not the end of the pandemic and we know that not everyone has experienced a bereavement. This is an opportunity to come together. To acknowledge our loss, whatever it is. To remember. To hear the comfort of God’s word. To pray. And to ask for the Lord’s healing grace and presence.
