Brian Davies, member of Saint James and Governor for The Gerrards Cross School writes:
You have no doubt heard on the news that during Covid many school children do not have access to a laptop and therefore not able to engage in school online lessons. As a consequence their education is suffering and they are falling behind their peers.
The Gerrards Cross C.E School urgently requires 20 laptops for children who do not have access to a home computer.
Please could you donate an old laptop? For a small cost this can be totally updated to the requirements of the school for online lessons. The disc drive will be totally wiped clean and all your existing data on the laptop would be completely removed NO previous data would be recoverable.
Dave Kidner of GX Computers has kindly agreed to carry out the laptop refurbishment at zero cost and local Rotary Club of Jordans and District have agreed to donate £500 towards the cost of new replacement parts. To find out more about what Dave is offering please click here.
Covid safe home collection will be arranged. You are just requested to wipe down the laptop and charger with an antibacterial wipe and place into a plastic carrier bag for collection.
Any donated laptops beyond that which the school requires will also be refurbished and given to other local schools who also have an urgent need for laptops.
To Donate please email [email protected] with your telephone number he will then contact you to arrange collection and answer any further queries that you may have.
Your laptop donation will be very much appreciated by the children, staff and school governors.
