Small Groups

"I've developed deep and lasting friendships within my small group..."

Our small groups are where each member of St James is encouraged to grow in faith and where everyone can find support, friendship and a deep sense of belonging.

Our 40+ small groups meet weekly or fortnightly in homes around the area. There are both daytime and evening groups, which are always delighted to welcome newcomers. Our group life varies from one group to the next but every group is built on the same foundations of:

  • Loving - loving one another and loving God in all areas of our lives.
  • Learning - learning more of what the Bible has to say to us in our every day life.
  • Serving - small groups are the place where we can discover the gifts that God has given us and where we learn to start serving with those gifts with the encouragement of group members.
  • Reaching - as we seek to bring others to a knowledge of Jesus, small groups are encouraged to engage in activities that reach out to those who have not yet heard the gospel.

Our goal is to become a church that is made up of small groups so that every single member of St James can belong and grow in the security of their group.
